I haven't had any of my vivid, possibly prophetic, dreams for quite some
time now. When I wake up, I'm not happy to realise that they seem to have
returned. This one has been the strangest yet.
In my dream I am standing facing a stern-faced man dressed in dark robes. He has a greying goatee beard. I am in what looks like a study. There is a desk, and over-full bookshelves occupy most of the walls. I have the feeling that I am being punished for some misdeed. The man gestures at me, and then he seems to begin to grow larger. Or rather I must be shrinking, I realise, for my surroundings appear to be getting bigger as well. I am so astonished that I stand motionless. When I am well under a foot in height, he grabs me and lifts me up. He picks up a large belljar that is sitting on his desk and traps me under it. That's when I awaken. Should I read anything into the dream? Up to now, I've had no indication that there is any magic in this world, but could Doria be different? Could that explain why so little is known of the country? Do I even believe in magic? Could the meaning of the dream be metaphorical, and maybe this man is going to try to diminish me in some way other than the literal?
