Smallpox

"Bloody terrible illness, that is. Best stay far away if I were you." Karshin says.

I nod absently, concerned for my friends and children. Of course they might not have the disease themselves, and may just be waiting things out in the castle. The last thing I want to do is to bring the infection right to their door. But, I also feel a pressing need to get back to them as soon as possible.

I take a final sip of my wine, then excuse myself and head back to my room, confused about what to do next. Karshin notices my distress and dosen't press me any further about spending time with him.

1. The next morning, I set out again. I must get back to my children right away!
2. I decide I must wait until this outbreak passes before proceeding. That could take days or even weeks. In the meantime, I must find shelter and the means to pay for it.
