"Please, I won't be a burden. I've been here three years, and it's time I moved on. Hari, you're the best friend I've got. Your baby will be born any day now, and you'll need help. We girls need to look out for each other, right? These rough-hewn mercenaries are handy to have around in a fight, but they won't be able to help you when the time comes to deliver your child. I can." "Moula, you know how to deliver a baby? You never told me." I say, astonished. "The elixir [3204] isn't perfect. We had a couple of pregnancies before you got here. Really, others here in the brothel have alot more experience with it than me. If you were staying, I'd have played only a small role, but since you're leaving - I think I know enough that I'd be able to do some good." "Of course you can come. Thank you for everything." John coughs uncomfortably. "Okay, enough with the baby stuff. Let's get downstairs and wait for Teran." We make it downstairs just in time to see Teran re-enter the building. He raises an eyebrow when he sees Moula with us. "Coming along too, lass? Well, the more the merrier, especially when they're young and gorgeous! Now, about those bouncers..." he says, cracking his knuckles. John and Teran make short work of the two bouncers, as well as the punter who was requesting my services, when he attempted to intervene on the bouncers' behalf. Before they fought I requested Teran and John to use some restraint, and they thankfully do, leaving all three alive, the worst injury being a broken nose. Teran and John drag their unconscious forms into one of the alcoves and draw the curtian. We then exit the brothel to a waiting carriage outside. I get in, with a little help from Teran. The others mount up and the carriage starts off, John giving instructions to the driver. "Wait, where are we going? We never got a chance to talk about it, remember?" I ask John. "There's a small town outside the city, about 10 miles away. River's Glen, it's called. It's a farming community for the most part, Gustav has no presence there. It would be preferable if we could get a little farther away, but we can't go too far with you in your condition. My funds aren't unlimited, but I should be able to rent us a couple of rooms for a few days." I shake my head. While I want to get word to the Ministry about what happened to me, and hopefully see Gustav brought to justice because of it, it's probably in the best interest of all of us to lay low for a while, and let things settle down in the wake of our escape. An hour later, the darkened city retreats from view as the carriage lumbers towards River's Glen.
