"I don't know. I just suddenly got this strong feeling that the kender was going to lead us into a trap. Otherwise why did he let us catch him a second time? Perhaps I'm just being silly."

"No, you're not being silly. It's your elvish intuition, and we would be fools to ignore it. It's not something that a kender would normally do, so he must be acting under duress. Now Kipper Thistleknot, what is this trap that you were intending to lead us into?"

1. Kipper tells them.
2. But Kipper remains uncharacteristically silent. "He must be really scared of whoever put him up to this," Amergin observes. "And there's not much that can frighten a kender. They are commonly supposed to be fearless."
3. "I don't know what you're taking about," Kipper says.
