Telling Teran

Luckily three adjacent alcoves are not being used - indicated by their red curtains having been pulled back. I lead Teran into the middle one of the three and pull the curtain across. This should be private enough, so long as nobody comes and stands right outside, which is very unlikely, or goes into an adjacent alcove, which is a greater risk.

As Teran bears me down onto the couch, I say: "Hold on a moment, Teran, I've got something important to tell you."

"I didn't come here for talk. Now get that dress off before I tear it off."

"Teran, it's me: Harry."

1. His look of astonishment is comical. "Hari!? Is it really you? What the hell happened?"
2. His amazed "Hari!" is so loud that I fear that everyone in the place must have heard it.
3. "I know. I recognised you at once, but since you were playing it cool so did I. Look, I'm a mercenary. If you want help, then you'll have to pay. I don't do charity work." What's happened to him since I saw him last, to make him so callous?
4. "I know. Gustav told me about you. Yes, I'm working for him now. I'm really sorry. Hari."
