On the Examining Table

You sit back down. The pain and frustration has gotten to the point where tears are welling in your eyes. Doctor Wistrom calls for an assistant. The assistant is yet another android, this one a male model. The android and the doctor help you into a wheelchair, and wheel you into a small, sterile room. They help you up onto a small examining table. You see some medical equipment that you assume is a sort of X-ray device.

The android asks that you remove your boots and any metal that you might have on your legs. You proceed to take off your boots; you don't have to worry about removing any metal. The doctor explains that he is going to see if the tendons in the knee were damaged, and would like you to lie flat on your back, with both legs on the table, and try to lift your bad leg into the air. With some pain, you are able to lift your leg into the air.

The doctor asks that you lower your bad leg back on the examining table. He then asks you to hold still while the android takes a photograph. The android moves a tube to a point above your knee. You hear a buzzing noise, and he takes a plate and goes off into the back somewhere.

While the android is doing this, Doctor Wistrom asks how the accident happened.

You answer, "I was not paying attention. I got lost, and wasn't sure where I was. Then I ran into this android."

"What were you looking for?"

You think back to when you left the ladies room in the mall. "I was actually looking for a certain clothing store in a mall. I must have gotten turned around."

1. Dr. Wistrom replies, "That makes sense. The big shopping complex is just north of here on the S-5." Your best guess is that the S-5 is a road or bus/tram line.
2. Dr. Wistrom raises his eyebrows. "Miss, what is your name again, and where do you live?" You see that something you said sounded odd to him.
