You answer, "I am confused and in pain right now. I went to use the restroom in a mall, and somehow I got lost and ended up here. My knee is swelling pretty bad."

The man tells you to sit down, so that he can take a look at the injury. You sit down and lift your skirt up above your knee, and see that the area around the knee is swollen and bruised to a dark shade of blue that fades to a yellow right at mid-calf, where the top of your boot begins. You grit your teeth and squint a bit, as the pain increases.

The man looks at your knee, and then removes the tank and hose. He tells you to place your arm around his neck, and stand up. He will assist in taking you to the clinic.

As you limp with the man to the elevator, you want to ask him about the two bodies, and how one looks very much like him, but you decide not to say anything until you are under a doctor's care.

He asks again, "Miss, who are you?"

You tell him your name, which should be harmless enough. He asks if you have any identification. You now understand that you don't have your purse! Your identification, credit cards, paper money, cosmetics, tape recorder (for detective work), keys, and all the little things that you carry with you - they are gone.

You become a little flustered. "I don't have my purse," you explain.

"Hmm," the man grunts. The elevator has gone down two levels, and the door opens.

The decor of this floor appears to be that of a different era than that of the futuristic assembly floor down below. The dark plank floors creak as you limp down the hall. The walls are painted beige, and the ceiling is a flat white plaster. The doors are made of walnut, or at least a wood resembling walnut. The brass doorknobs are slightly tarnished from use. The doors all have frosted glass windows with black serif letters.

You and the nearly bald man approach a door. On the glass is written

The Morgenthaler Research Complex
General Clinic

The man opens the door, and there appears to be a waiting area. The man leaves the room for a half minute, and returns. He explains, "I have to get back to my job, Miss, but the secretary will take care of you."

You nod and smirk weakly.

The secretary comes out. The secretary is

1. a young man that looks exactly like the other body she saw on the assembly floor!
2. an android!
