The Library

The Black Void - Episode 25

Picking the hallway to my right, it leads me right into a library. There is a checkout counter directly in front of me, and bookshelves everywhere. Behind the checkout counter, I see the main entrance that leads outside. Then I look back down the hallway. Over the hallway is a sign that reads "To the restrooms". This library does not look familiar at all.

A sign in paper taped to the wall says "To bridge game". I actually like to play bridge, even though I am not a good bridge player. I like to give other bridge players lessons. I have learned to be careful when offering bridge lessons because other people have been offended by my lectures.

Looking around the library, it is a place filled with people doing various activities that one might do in the library: reading books, magazines, whatever, checking out books, browsing or whatever.

One thing for sure - I would like to know where I am and why I came through the void when I was supposed to be food shopping! Come to think of it, my son, Mark, has a birthday coming up and I was supposed to pick up a large ice cream birthday cake that I ordered. How do I get back so I can buy Mark his ice cream cake? And I have his birthday party that needs to be arranged. Mark invited over 25 friends. Kids! Always making Mom do a lot of work! But I wouldn't trade Mark for anyone! And what is Mark going to think when he finds out that his mommy has disappeared? Poor Mark. He is going to be so miserable if I don't get back soon.

Oh dear, what am I gonna do?

  1. Talk to the lady at the desk and find out where I am.
  2. Look at the newspaper/periodical area.
  3. Leave the library. Maybe I can find my way home.
  4. Follow the signs to the bridge game. Bridge usually makes me relax.
