Party

The Black Void - Episode 2065

After several hours of deep sleep, Sarah was awoken by a loud bang that seemed to come from outside the room. In the soft glow of the insect, she could discern the shape of the bed, and saw that she was still alone. She could now hear the sounds more clearly. She deduced that they were coming from the hall downstairs. There was the sound of jugs being clinked together, there was the singing of hunting-songs and there was the general roar of drinking men.

“Party!” she called out.

Refreshed by the short nap, Sarah jumped up from the bed and after making sure she was fully dressed, she rushed through the door and down the flight of stairs to find the source of the commotion. Down in the main hall, the oak tables were now filled with guests. There were elfs like her sitting together in a tight clique, while they sipped mead from crystal goblets. There were dwarfs loudly singing songs about beer, while they were, indeed, drinking beer. There were some humans too, and some other beings that Sarah couldn’t label so readily.

In the middle of all this was Amergin. He was conversing with two men who seemed to have just returned from the hunt. Their boots and leather coats were covered in blood, but luckily they had not dragged their spoils with them into the inn.

On noticing Sarah’s entrance, Amergin stood up and gestured that she should join their group. The hunters nodded silently at her as she sat down at the table. One of the men handed her a pitcher of beer. Only then, Sarah noticed how thirsty she was. The beer tasted sweet and light. After devouring the last gulp, she felt slightly intoxicated, but also invigorated.

“How are you feeling?” asked Amergin.

  1. "I'm hungry."
  2. "I feel like hunting!"
  3. "I feel ready to travel further."
  4. "You're sexy..."
