Endless Sands

The Black Void - Episode 1853

I walk off into the desert, refusing to look back at the building. As I travel further and further into the desert, my mission to find a road seems hopeless. The desert is really quite pretty - the sands are in shades of ochre, gold and bronze I've never seen in sand back home, and the sky is a clear azure and looks almost liquid. Perhaps too clear. By the time the sun begins to set, I've ripped off the legs of my pant suit and pulled my shirt off to escape the oppressive heat, but it does me no good. My face, neck and back are sunburnt and peeling, and I'm sweating profusely. I need food or water, soon, but there doesn't seem to be anything much in this desert. It's getting cold now that night has fallen. At least the moon and the stars are out in this clear sky, so I can see what I'm doing. What should I do?

  1. Keep walking. There has to be a road somewhere.
  2. Give up and try to sleep.
  3. Turn back and try going the other way.
  4. Look for some food or water.
