You always told yourself that you wouldn't live like this forever. You've
planned on quitting the business, finding a real job, and one day walking
the straight and narrow. But this isn't that day. You walk into a nearby jewelry store. After engaging the clerk in light conversation and flashing a few (fake) credit cards, you manage to get him to open the jewelry cases and show you the exhibits one by one. After a sufficiently large selection is placed on the counter, you spray him in the face with mace, scoop the jewelry in your purse and hurry out the door. Not the most sophisticated method, you chide yourself as you run for the exit, but effective nonetheless. Now you just have to make it past mall security and to your beat-up Saab 900 in the parking lot... And then the same pack of cops you met earlier is blocking the exit. Swinging their billy clubs and grinning ear to ear, the gendarmes advance toward you...
