A few days after Josh Burbank disappeared, he sent handwritten notes to his parents Mike and Linda, his younger brother Matt, his surviving grandparents, and his best friends Scott, Krissy, Jasper and Sara. His girlfriend Beth got a much longer letter. Josh urged everyone to not worry about him, and that he needed to "do something about this Australia thing". He also assured everyone that he would be back "soon". However, his letters were void of any kind of apology for disappearing like he had done, a fact that did not go unnoticed.
A few days later, Josh Burbank, disguised with a new hairstyle and a full beard, checked into his room at the Reef Lodge Backpackers hostel in downtown Townsville, Queensland, just north of the Flinders-Wickham roundabout. Getting into the country was no problem, since Josh had taken time to establish an alter ego, complete with new credit cards, a new iPhone, and anything else necessary to throw any would-be investigators off the trail. No one in Australia knew that Josh Burbank, the latest enemy of the state, was in the country. Instead, an American tourist by the name of R. Scott Allen, hailing from Louisville, Kentucky, had quietly entered the land down under for a month or two of rest and relaxation. But Josh had other plans: sinister ones. He had elaborate plans to disrupt the island continent and its people, and he swiftly concluded that if he started something in Townsville, it would quickly make its way down the Pacific coast, and eventually engulf the entire country. Josh planned to lay low for a week before he launched his diabolical plan. In the meantime, Josh, or R. Scott Allen from Louisville if you will, craved a great dinner and a pint or two of Australia's finest lager. After getting his room situated, he grabs what he needs and quietly heads down to the street in search of a decent meal.
However, Josh's plan might never come to be. Shortly after his plane from Los Angeles touched down in Sydney hours ago, Scott and Jasper managed to track down Josh's whereabouts, and traced him to another plane flying northeast to Townsville. Scott got into touch with Josh's family, and a plan of their own was swiftly hatched. Two days from now, Scott Childers, his girlfriend Krissy Cobham, and Josh's girlfriend Beth McCart would fly out to Los Angeles to meet Josh's parents, Mike and Linda Burbank, along with Josh's younger sister Ashley, who all flew in from Chicago. Matt Burbank, probably Josh's closest sibling, would be flying in from St. James, Nebraska with his bandmate Louie Lewis, and another mutual acquaintance of theirs (and Louie's roommate), Roger Irrelevant. Why they agreed to come on this trip is anybody's guess, but Matt was grateful to have some friends along. From there, the whole gang would fly to Australia in hopes of stopping Josh from doing whatever he was planning on doing. How they planned on doing this had yet to be revealed. And no one had a clue how they could smuggle Josh out of Australia and back to America without causing another incident!
