Time For Dinner

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 9922

The grandfather clock in the hallway showed that it was now just after six o'clock. They prepared for dinner as best they could - and fortunately the plumbing seemed rather more modern than everything else would have suggested. When they emerged, one at a time, into the hall they found the butler waiting. When the party was complete, he showed them to the dining room.

To their disappointment, the "master" was not yet in evidence. The butler showed them to their seats. There were name-cards on the table, which they found disturbing. How did this "master" know their names? The butler lifted Melissa into a high chair at the foot of the people. She seemed unperturbed by this indignity. She had a set of miniature cutlery at her place.

  1. The "master" appeared and took his seat at the table's head. The Bettys recognised him.

  3. The bulter said: "Unfortunately the master has been detained by some unfinished business, but he will join you as soon as he can."
