Brutal Ardour

"Because you're all alike!" Joan shoots back. "You may be all powerful, but you're still weak enough to not interfere in the destiny of mankind, especially when mankind is hellbent on annihilating itself in acts of war! That's not altruistic at all, Belboz! That's cowardice. Thousands of people may perish in the coming days, some willing, some not. You could prevent all of this from happening. There is nothing keeping you confined in the caves!"

Belboz, now looking very uncomfortable, grapples for a response. But, Joan doesn't allow him the opportunity to speak. "I can also see that you have absolutely no issue with me going off and possibly losing my own life out there. What sort of creature, powerful or not, does that?!"

1. For once, Belboz is rendered speechless.
2. Belboz argues back, but insists he still cannot leave the caves.
3. Realizing she might be losing an argument here, Joan leaves the caves alone.
4. Finding her strength, Joan physically removes Belboz from the caves and brings him back to civilization.
