The Tree Gods

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 98245

"Tree Gods?" Fred said. "I've never heard of such beings. Assuming that they exist and are responsible for moving your clothes, why should they think that you needed to be taught a lesson? And why should they think that moving your clothes to a different location was a suitable way of doing that?"

Glenda had not yet picked up her clothes. Perhaps she was nervous of doing so, if she believed that the Tree Gods had moved them. She told Fred: "We all believe in the Tree Gods around these parts. No doubt a knight from Caemlyn such as yourself would think it just a superstition, but we know better. That giant oak tree is probably the home for some of them, which explains why my clothes finished up next to it. As to why I needed to be taught a lesson:

  1. "I don't know. Perhaps they don't approve of naked bathing."
  2. "I helped my father to cut down some trees to extend the grazing area for our sheep."
  3. "A day or so ago I started a bonfire to burn some rubbish, but it got out of control and spread to nearby trees and burnt them."
  4. "I've done a terrible thing."
