Pool of Water

"What happened to the door?" asked Fred.

"I don't know," said Exotica. "This is all very strange. We'll have to go through the pool."

"It makes me a bit nervous, somehow," said Fred. "Could it be enchanted?"

"Maybe," said Exotica. "Since I'm a powerful sorceress now, I can probably cast a spell so that the water would part long enough for us to get through."

"That sounds good," said Fred. Somehow, instinctively, Exotica knew what to do. She said a few arcane words, and made some strange gestures. The water shimmered, and...

1. parted, just as Exotica had hoped it would.
2. stayed in place, which would seem to confirm Fred's fears that it was enchanted.
