Fred's Honor Is Tested

"Look, fair lady." he said. "While this island is full of pleasent joys, the dragon still exsists. I would not be an honorable man, for a man I still am deep inside, if I did not go forth and defeat the dragon. Though man may not understand me and society would not accept me, I could not live with myself if I did not attempt to finish what I promised to do. Now that my senses are fully regained I will find a way off of this island and the dragon will be defeated! This I swear."

"But...but...all who end up here do stay!" Alicia says. "What could be more desireable? Good friends, near immortallity, food, water, a society that accepts anyone...why the color of your skin you once had does not matter here."

"Fair lady," Fred continued. "I fear that if you do not understand why I must go you will never understand why I must go."

1. Fred swims out to a passing merchant ship and stows away.
2. Fred is prevented from leaving by a terrible threat to the island and the world.
