Fred's Illness Causes Problems

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 9702

After encountering a mysterious underground volcano with magical properties and a quick encounter with the dragon, Fred had lost control of his actions. Modern day doctors would call it a nervous breakdown, but since this is the year of our Lord 1178, the court magician fears Fred possessed. Thus, three warriors were sent on a dual mission. To find and 'cure' Fred and to destroy the dragon.

(The court magician knew of Fred's illness due to a simple bodily image spell, only showing Fred's body. Thus was the limit of the magic the dragon wouldn't detect in his caves).

Now the three warriors were Sir Lots, an ex baron who lost his lands in a disputer in the Three Kingdoms. There was Sir Toby, captain of the gaurd and head librarian at the castle. And mysterious Sir TW, a young man who had gained knightly skills seemingly out of nowhere.

The three knights had encounterd Fred near the volcano but was given the slip. They had split up to hunt Fred down.

Sir Lots was taking an upward sloping passage. Something was odd. The floor was smoothed and one side had handrails!

The passage turns back on itself then shoots to the left. It opens up into a small area. There are three curving rows of chairs facing a stage. Elderly men and women face the stage and watch a man and woman performing what seems to be Aristotle's famous play 'The Two Apples By The Side Of The Road'.

Lots was amazed. Sudddenly a dark-skinned man in white overalls sidled up to him. "Sorry, sir. Visiting hours are over. Please visit tommorow."

Lots was shocked. A nursing home and/or hospital in the dragon's caves?

Lots did not know what do do.

  1. Leave.
  2. Ask if anyone matching Fred's description has come by.
