Crystal at first seemed rather glad that Fred was going to be staying with her at the bottom of the sea. Her tail-fin waved behind her happily as she sat beside him while she planted a few kisses on his cheek. However, he seemed to be distant; he tried to escape from time to time as the days went on. Oh, he was happy enough to be paid attention to by this otherworldly creature but his body wasn't meant for the ocean.
She noticed his sadness and knew deep down that she couldn't keep him for herself forever. Her body was more suited to the water and as such she could escape the monster easier than he could. One day, she led him up to the surface, avoiding the monster even with his added weight as she pulled him along. Of course, it was a closer call than if she had gone alone. Its jaws threatened to engulf him again but Crystal was able to keep him out of reach of its gaping maw. She really wished that she could follow him, but sadly she was not one of those transforming mermaids. This was quite apparent as her fin flopped against the beach, kicking up sand while her webbed hands were on the ground behind her to help prop herself up in a sitting position. "Please, take me with you...," the mermaid pleaded as she grasped one of his ankles after he had gotten use to standing on shore again. Even out of the water, her seductive power was great and she hoped it would help her now. Though, from the sound of her plea, it was she who had been seduced. Love at first sight as the humans called it.
