Before Joan could protest, Belboz waved his hands and Joan was in an empty
room in the palace. Joan knew where she was and how to get to the throne
room, as she had visited the King's palace many times when she had been Lord
Fred. She entered the hallway and sighed. She didn't like the idea of being a woman for the rest of her life, but it appeared as if she couldn't do anything about it, and it was necessary to save the kingdom. ~~Good God,~~ she thought, ~~I never thought I would go through *this* to save the kingdom. Couldn't Belboz have chosen some *other* knight? I really hate that wizard. Wait till I get my hands on him again...~~ Her chain of thought was interrupted by voices. She heard two people talking. She tried to hear what they were talking about, but she couldn't. They seemed to be whispering. They obviously didn't want anyone near to hear them, but why?
