Time to talk

Well! It wasn’t like Rei Takahashi was going to let this situation deteriorate any worse than it had already gotten by staying silent on this matter. God only knows how much further it could go with this general who . . .was named after a certain fictitious general in an action movie. She prayed that this General Hummel wasn’t who she thought he was, but even IF he was she hoped he’d listen before going hog wild . . .and kill them all.

So while Rei set about doing that, Reika went over to calm Betty Ragan (who looks like she took a punch to the stomach over what supposedly happened to her town) to remind her of the . . .special nature of those distortion waves the VLA kept puting out. The people might not be as gone as the General believed. Lilith kept an eye on the Master, much to the chagrin of the evil Timelord.

"The attention is appreciated Lilith but I do believe I've quiet recovered enough," the Master chided softly, knowing full well that the attention was partly to see that he was recovering. Mostly to keep an eye on him so he didn't try anything (else) rash and ill advised.

Frankly, the Champion's had yet to not have at least one set of eyes upon him. Annoying, but then again the Master could see just WHY they'd do such a thing. If the situation was reversed he would have kept an eye upon them, if not have ditched them (or worse).

As for his feelings upon the apparent lost lives? Didn't mean anything to him, but we all knew that right?

As for the General himself? One could always make the joke that one could always tell a Marine (but not much), but frankly Rei and none of the others were in the mode to make such a tasteless joke like that right now…

Rei commands her laptop to intercept the video feed portion of the transmission the belligerent Marine general was using to give ultimatums with and nearly groans as it reveals . . .

Oh good God it IS Hummel from “The Rock”, Rei broadcasts in almost despair to her fellow sisters and Champion friends.

”General we need to talk and talk now,” the headstrong clone said, interrupting the various into whatever stuttered responses of outrage and confusion that those within NERV were giving over the line. “Please? Before we all make a mistake NONE of us will live to regret . . .Could we talk? “I mean . . .lets get a few things straightened out like why you’d think NERV is just conducting wargames with live nuclear devices and such?” Rei continues, trying desperately to disarm to situation that was spinning out of control before her eyes with a little humor.

1. “Get a few misunderstandings straightened out before we all come to blows, right General?" Rei finishes, trying to not look quiet as desperate as she felt. "So how about it?”
