Where eating popcorn leads to misunderstanding

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 82873

. . .

Basically, what Reaibn does is rather odd. Almost insane if one thinks about it, right? Then again, it's fun and games here, not to be taken seriously.

All in fun and it's funny to read, those who'll latter read of these events here and there, sometime or another.

But under the right (or wrong)circumstances, through various means of spying and from people trying to figure out what the #$%#$ is going on underneath a certain forcefield/dome over the VLA in a certain reality?

Well, let us just say that it leads to mistaken impressions. Impressions that the Angel Wars isn't really a real war, but some kind of demented wargame going on without ANY care or concern to those who get caught between the combatants. I mean after all, who in there right mind would entrust young teenager barely into puberty with what ammounts to giant war machines, duking it out with giant alien war machines from space? Something like that? Who use tatics that seem to range from unorthodox to those not in the know completely and utterly . . .

Batsh*t insane.

Basically, the intel gathered from the camera of a remote drone trying to scry into the happenins under the Dome (a product of a certain Doctor Who arch villian) is a glimpse of Reaibn sitting in a lawnchair and eating popcorn while a certain purple horned warmachine is duking it out with an Angel was the tipping point.

The increasingly frantic and frightened powers that be in America believe that the Dome over the VLA is the work of aliens from off world or another diminsion intent upon some dark designs. That is . . .correct, but not in the way the powers think.

The powers that be believe that those within NERV and Tokyo 3 are to blame for the Dome and the apparent cracks in reality sweeping all over the place within the Dome.

They also think that those within NERV and Tokyo 3 were conducting wargames (or something more akin to glatorial games) because of the rather ODD way the Angel War was being waged by NERV (by the tatics employed mostly from one Misato Katsuragi). The "proof" of this was the man watching from afar, eating popcorn like it was some kind of sporting event.

. . .

And this is why one Marine general in the end is giving a last, rather deadly ultimatum to those within Tokyo 3--the Rebuild version and not the earlier anime or manga version AND the only city which got transported in entirety to this new world instead of just pieces and parts--to lay down it's arms and surrender, Else face nuclear bombardment.

What? Barbaric? Overreacting?!

Seriously, if you look into various other realms where an event called 9/11 took place (where terrorists highjacked planes to crash into the Twin Towers and the Pentagon) . . .I'd say that the response to an entire American town getting nuked . . .

That and a nuke barrage in JUST the right place would actually seal the diminsional breaches and stop what appears to be some kind of invasion. Bad advise in the end but . . .

Well, you'll see what I mean about that and the other thing in a moment.

HOWEVER, at least now we all know just a little bit more just why the Marine general (as well as various others) believe that those Eva/Angel battles are some kind of war game and not actual combat!

  1. "And just who exactly the Hell are you?" said general growls at Rei Takahashi, quickly getting over his surprise at her appearance. "And while at it, just what are you? Some representive for the Angel side of those wargames that ran amuck here?"
