him, Fred just had time to think. Then something entered the hallway. It
was definitely
a "something" rather than a "someone", and there were several more close
behind it.
Fred had never seen anything like them before. "What are they?" he asked
the woman, as
they retreated into a corner to prevent the creatures surrounding them and
attacking their backs.
