Mokad looked at the women and knew they were in great need. He thought it
so odd that they would be out in these wilds to begin with; this western
road "ErinPath" was not well traveled, indeed, he liked to use it for it's
speed - there was never any traffic on it! Finally he decided to accept
their offerings and in exchange he gave them one of his horses. He then
continued on his way while the women went theirs.
Anina and Astra made their way through the forest on the one horse for a goodly passing of stars, but finally they both grew too tired to continue, as did the horse in carrying them! Before dawn they set up camp again and, after setting signal traps round about, they fell fast asleep. They awoke to a fine midmorning sun and soon were off again. At noon the women exited the woods and were faced with a new decision: follow the road east or head down a split going south. They were still unsure as to where they were; east would surely bring them into Allaria, but whether they would pass through some other kingdom or principality first was an open question; south might take them towards Gana and the Gap which fortified the Shreken and the Carpath mountains, of course the southern road might also lead the women through less friendly baronies, city-states, and other unions...and the thoughts of giants and the DragonMage still lay heavily upon them. The women had spoken little as they had traveled the previous day, yet the words of the dead soldier seemed to speak volumes to both of them. Anina was sure the best course was to head back to Aqualaria, yet Astra could not help but wonder at the soldier's contention that the Allarians had seen both her and Anina in some kind of dream or revelation. The Allarian soldier had said they were sent to find them, to take them to Allaria, but why exactly? Time passages and paradoxes gave Astra a headache, and Anina wouldn't even mention the turmoils that obviously were affecting her.
