Fred led the way down the corridor, with the two sorceresses following
behind while bickering with each other over their respective magical
prowess. They passed back through the room where Adele had been imprisoned,
and headed next toward the green light.
They soon came upon a room, which was identical to the others, only with a giant emerald at its center. A young warrior with a confused expression on his face was frozen within. "Matthias" whispered Elaine. "We must free him quickly." "Agreed" said Adele. "Let us try the seal-breaking spell. It can't be any worse than Fred just hacking away at it, which so far has invariably led to the dragon guardian being summoned." Fred had some misgivings, but had to concede the point that his straightforward approach might not be best for this task. A magical problem, perhaps, requires a magical solution, he thought. Fred hung back, but with his sword drawn and at the ready. The girls stepped forward and began to chant in unison.
