Fred swore as his high quality sword was notched by the powerful chains.
Not just a bit but an entire sliver was hacked off the sword by it's
impact with the metal. But...the locks were a different matter. Fred looked about. The sliver of metal would be perfect...but oh my. "Princess?" he said. "Yes?" "Um, I need the object that is um..." "Spit it out, sir." "There is a piece of metal resting on your left breast. Very small. Please hand it to me." She did so. Fred gingerly popped it into the lock. He rooted a bit and it popped open. Then he went to the left ankle. He rooted there and the the sliver was destroyed but fortunately the lock was already undone. Fred's fortune was further enchanced in that the princess could now escape from the wall. For it had been such that one chain was hooked between two limbs and run behind a metal circle buried in the wall. But Astra still had a length of chain hooked to her right ankle and one hooked to her left hand. "Fear not." she said, reading his mind. "A good grip with two hands and it should slide right off." "Maybe so, Princess." said Fred. "But surely you would scratch and tear the flesh of your foot." "Indeed, but it is better then limping because of seven pounds of chain attached to my leg." "Let me try to find another lockpick." "No time." With that, Astra sat down and wrenched the bracelet off. Fred gasped as blood welled from many shallow tears. Soon they went for the entrance, all of Fred's bandages around Astra's foot. She kept the chain attached to her wrist as it would make a formidable weapon. They must have taken a wrong turn for where Fred expected the exit to be was a raging waterfall.
