Its the kind of rose that has such sharp and jagged thorns that fingers could easily be lost to it. A rose found around a certain Dark Tower (ala Stephen King's" Gunslinger"). "No. No," a disgusted sounding voice mutters, interrupting the taboo before everyone in the room. "No, this will NOT do at all." "Tuxedo Kamen, don’t bother with the boy," the Master snorted derisively, shaking his head slightly in disgust as he sneered over in Xander’s direction. "He’s not worth our time to bother with at all. Not when even if you and your wife obviously are MUCH more powerful than the anime I researched ever hinted at . . ." "So that is why he had been so surprised with Setsuna bringing the TARDIS accidentally here," Rei said softly to herself, her own feathers settling down somewhat from their ruffled state at Xander’s rather . . .ill thought out worded revelations. It was not that she and her sisters particularly cared at their odd nature of being clones (who’s soul got transferred into a new "shell" after the old one got destroyed). Rather, it had—for the youngest sibling--been Xander’s somewhat callous manner he had done the deed that sat rather badly with the young women, really. For all of the clones, Xander had inadvertently brought back old memories of certain dark times when a certain bleach blonde caregiver had been rather . . .cruel with them. Treated them as something less than human, really and feeding their existential worries. Oh, Reika’s Dr. Ritsuko Akagi had straightened up in the end after she learned that Reika as an actual person instead of some kind of downloaded AI animating a human (well. . . .half human but human appearing) body, but still! Bad memories which the elder sisters had gotten by and large well over by this time but were still rather fresh wound for Yukiko! And since the other sisters shared a Bond with their youngest sister and feel her HER hurt, they of course have those ruffled feelings (and feathers). And of course this meant that they were glaring at Xander just as badly (if not more so) as some of the others In the room here. Most of the others kind of figured out that certain subject would have to be something of a sore subject for at least Yukiko, especially after Xander himself had pointedly hinted at such things earlier when he’d been explaining some of the more weird aspects of Neon Genesis Evangelion to Mr. Giles (who was not up on most anime, not being his thing and all that). What gives here now with this when explaining the subject again (this time with the Doctor and the rest of the newcomers)? Well, that said… We shall get to that in a bit. That and perhaps why Astra the Angel is not attempting to steer things (yet) back to the topic at hand she had come to broach with the others. There IS some kind of eeriness in the air. A sense of . . .timelessness. A Sense of Timelessness eminating from both angels in their midst… That and isn’t it rather odd that Principal Snyder had not made even a slight outburst of surprise at a heavenly messenger showing up? … Ah, but as for the Master admitting to getting his information from the anime Sailor Moon which led to wrong assumptions when Setsuna? That said so much about things. While the anime had more monsters in it (monsters of the week shall we say), the manga was . . . darker and grittier in a lot of respects. The enemies were fewer but more powerful (with more than a dash of fetish for gore and blood truth be told from what Rei recalled in her researching for a art commission). It wasn’t too odd of fact that the Senshi were more powerful (and competent) than a lot of their anime counterparts. Heck, Sailor Moon from the anime, Rei remembered from one website bulletin board she’d visited, claimed that her power level was on par—later in the series after some level ups—with the God Emperor of Mankind from 40K! And having an idea of just how powerful Setsuna could get from talking with various Moon Kingdom folks awhile ago before the Quest had started had rather put a damper on really just diving into mortal combat with the real Emperor back earlier. Oh, she and her friends would have given the (^%^* a fight—honor demanded it-- but she’d had NO real hopes of getting out a win or doing anything more than inconveniencing the man. But all that said the Master is still speaking…. " . . .and instead of ‘correcting’ Mr. Harris’ lack of tact let me address the issue instead," the Master finishes, his voice taking on a tone that is cold. Murderous even. But whatever the evil Time Lord has planned apparently does not involve violence. Not YET at least. Seems that the Master is smart enough that drawing his pistol would be . . .counterproductive to his goals right now. Though the Doctor is at a loss as to just WHY the Master seems so offended at Xander’s poor choice of wording. Almost like he took it . . .personal. OH, the Doctor is sure that this is all something of an act for he cannot seriously believe that the young woman named Rei Takahashi actually MANAGED to actually hire the Master or that the Master will seriously honor Of course, the Doctor has to add to this, thankful though he ironically is . . . AH BUGGER IT! "Enough of this nonsense!" the Doctor thundered as he imposed himself between the young man in question and the others. "Enough of this farce! The boy had been rather rude but otherwise harmless! " What is your game Master?!" the Doctor growled, clearly near the end of his patience with this whole bit. . . . Sigh, shows that all is not peaceful and quiet back on the home front, eh? Even when they all come together for a common cause, trouble still happens. Even when they explain the reasoning and the logic and everything: this! The yelp of surprise that Xander gives as he suddenly finds himself being yanked by some invisible source and up besides Rei Takahashi, who’s hands are still glowing for just a few seconds more after her spellwork had yanked him to her side. "Better over her with me than in harms way over there I think," Rei finally says after giving the blinking young teen a pointed look. "But I believe you owe my little sister Yukiko an apology for inadvertently hurting her feelings with your attempt of trying to cop a schnook with the Master." Yukiko looks like she’d like to take whatever apology Xander would give her and shove it up the boy’s petard (which would earn her a sisterly rebuke about needing to be more patient with others). After all, Xander had originally been the one to warn the others about being careful around Yukiko over certain issues, being that she obviously still had emotional wounds that had only just now begun to scab over. Giving Xander the benefit of the doubt after their blood pressure returned to normal (the hurt of their youngest sister had hurt THEM . . .mess with one of them meant messing with them ALL), they would have reminded the youngest one of that fact. After all, over the years the clones had kept on running into people who could not seem to make the leap of logic that if one actually meets a person who's life was based upon some work of fiction they'd seen on TV or literature that what they "knew" from the fiction might not necessarily translate into real life. God only knows some out their seemed to not be able to understand why Rei and her sisters still did not have that stoic and quiet personality, even though it was a well known fact that Unit 00 had gone violently bezerk at leas twice in the series, speaking of a violent "soul" within. When the two halves (one from within the human and the other within the EVA) got combined again of COURSE things changed! Changed for the better if the clone women's humble opinion, thanks! BUT Xander missed that look, more concerned with the blue haired (and rather powerful) magic woman before him and the others were frankly a but too curious at this latest development so missed it as well; and so this never came up. Rei having grabbed a human by magic alone and dragging Xander to her side had gotten their attention, shall we say! Not like you see that everyday on either TV series Buffy and the Doctor haled from and leave at that!! "Uh . . .of course I’ll . . .," Xander begins, after drawing back a little at having a pair of crimson eyes look at him so. Only to freeze stock still as Astra coughs delicately to draw four sets of eyes (three crimson and one green) to her. Everyone else inside the room now appears to be as frozen in time as Principal Snyder (who looks like he’d been in the middle of yet another snide remark). "First let us get back to your newest sister," Astra smile slightly.
