Jarlath Gives Some Explanations

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 9251

Andrea walked through the alley, following Jarlath. She didn't know what to make of this strange boy. They had never met before in her life, but he seemed to know much about her...

"It is possible to see many thing without eyes," said Jarlath.

Andrea was getting a little spooked. Did he read her mind?

"Fear me not," said Jarlath. "Rather, fear my brother."

Andrea really didn't know what to make of this comment. "You have a brother?" she asked.

"Indeed I do," said Jarlath. "His name is Fredrigo D'Honaire."

This startled Andrea more than a little. How could this strange blind boy be the brother of Fredrigo D'Honaire? And yet...Andrea had been suspicious of Fredrigo since she had met him. Something didn't...ring true about him. Could Jarlath have somehow seen the truth about him?

"Why shouldn't I trust Fred?" she asked.

Jarlath suddenly stopped in his tracks. "Two of the peices have been joined," said Jarlath. "The circle is close to being complete."

"What?" said Andrea. "What do you mean, the circle is close to being complete?"

"You will know soon, o Andrea. For I can see the stream of Destiny flowing to a great junction, where it could take one of two paths. In one, the dragon Minestus is destroyed and the world is free of him. In the other, the whole world is subjected to a power far worse than that of Minestus. And it is your choice that shall determine which it shall be."

Andrea pondered all the implications of what Jarlath was saying. Was it true that she would be that important? She was worried that she would no longer be free to do as she wished, forced into a quest that she didn't want to follow. She was tired of questing, she just wanted to be free.

"Ah, yes," said Jarlath, seeming to read her mind again, "I was like you once. Young and irresponsible, wishing to be free of all obligations. And I was careless with my power, and lost my physical sight. Destiny does not always allow us to take the paths we wish, Lady Andrea."

Meanwhile, back in the forest, Astra, Aethir, and Fredrigo were still waiting for Simon to come around. "I'm worried that he's dead," said Aethir.

"Let me take a closer look at him," said Astra. She approached Simon, and said...

  1. "He's alive, and he's coming to."
  2. "He's alive, and still unconscious."
  3. "He's dead."
  4. Before Astra could reveal Simon's state...
