"There!" cried the Miller's wife. "In tha' alley!!! C'mon now!" The
woman's cry caused fear to run up Andrea's spine, the tingling of
adrenaline was both powerful and full of apprehension. When the woman and
the two men reached the alley their demeanor changed, however. They saw
the blind man and turned around. "Might as well leave her now tha' th'
lunatic's got her."
Andrea shook from those words and weedled her way away from the blind man who called himself Jarlath the Finder. She again looked upon him, upon his form; he looked no better than a serf and his body smelled of sweat and rotten eggs. "You must come," he said and gestured for her to follow. She was no fool. "Where am I to go?" she asked. "To a place of safety," he replied. "It seems I am safe enough from that woman," said Andrea. "Aye," said the blind man. "But I'm more worried of wolves." With that he turned and walked down the alley, feeling his way with both a hand and a good-sized stick. The click-click-clicking reverberated within Andrea's mind even as the man's words sunk deep. Whoever this man was, he knew an awful lot.
