How things have changed, indeed. Hespan and what was left of
Allaria were no longer at war now, the terrible urgency of the current
crisis having overwhelmed national pride. Aqualaria was plunged
into civil war between the half-Allarian rightful queen, the daughter of
Queen Astra and his own brother Jarlath (both dead now), and a
pretender to the throne. And the Dragon ruled almost all of Allaria
and everything to west, and was fast moving in on the other
kingdoms.
If only Fred had not stayed with the lovely mermaid. He could have killed the Dragon. Why hadn't the mermaid told him he could leave anytime he wanted to? He should have listened to the legends that told him that beings like that could never be trusted. But he had still loved her, even though he hated her now too. But that was not important.
