"This . . .isn't right!" the Bridge Bunny--a term that First Lieutenant Shigeru Aoba would have MOST loudly object to-- muttered to himself, shaking his head as the reality of his situation crashed down upon him. Last thing he remembered before now had been . . .Unit Mark 00 going berserk and then . . . . The guitar playing computer technician felt his had shaking in disbelief as he recalled . . .a rather harsh 'wall to wall session' that young seeming girl had given him to the tune of 'Don't ignore the plight of young girls in need that you work with'. That Senshi seemed MOST ticked off at most (if not all) of the NERV staff who'd been in the room. And didn't he remember (through his session of pain) that some of his co-workers (like Dr. Akagi for instance) screaming and tearing at her own face?! 'Did we just get our asses handed to us by Sailor Moon?!' he blurted out to the room at large, suddenly drawing all sorts of unwelcome attention from all to his presence. That mini-skirted figure HAD a most disturbing resemblance (discounting shifting slightly from one form to the next) to that manga series that his co-worker, Makoto Hyuga, read from time to time on his breaks; when he wasn't running errands for the Operations Director Misato Katsuragi, anyway. At the time the long haired computer technician (and guitarist) had laughed quietly at his companion's rather odd choice in reading materials. He could understand 'giant robot' manga (look at where they worked), but 'magic girl' manga?! Now? It really did NOT seem so funny after all. Cue cognitive dissonance! Surreal? Yep! Funny? Not really. For HIM, anyway¡ As for those people that he had interrupted, most of from the various harried technicians and whatnot dwellers of NERV Acheron had been absorbed in other things like the fact that that one Angel they had been tasked to hold (after it had been captured by some God unknown means) had somehow broken free and was in the process of escaping. The job had been to study it, NOT let it escape to fly off and try to get to Tokyo 3 where (IF it should get so far and IF it would be allowed to 'become one' with that one Angel named Lilith they kept in their basement there) 'Third Impact' would befall the remaining human beings of their poor planet Earth. Third Impact was so VERY much not in their game plans, shall we say. It would be so inconvenient have an extinction level event strike and all that. Ruin their entire day, it would. THAT would not look good at all on their resumes and so they were VERY annoyed to have. Oh, by the way all that was . . .heavy sarcasm for the most part. These NERV folks that our wayward Bridge Bunny found himself amongst really are not from a Fun House version of the Evangelion storyline thread (Rebuild edition, patent pending)! Nope! Not that! They had been MOST busy trying desperately to attempt to halt their deadly prisoner from escaping but had not noticed Aoba's arrival at all (and a lot of OTHER odd things going on outside their base) because they were stupid (or from some stupid side reality). No, instead of THAT they had been under what could only be described as . . .the thrall of the timewarp gone mad caused when one (like a powerful, mad 'goddess' Setsuna Serenity had been for a while) deliberately takes out a vital piece the First Child (Yukiko) an accidentally takes/will take out (er. . . wait and see) out two other pieces (Asuka and Mari) represented to the Dead Sea Scrolls Prophecies (something of epic proportion. . . .like Biblical proportion). Take something like the things that were taken out of the equation of the Prophecy like this (in such an unprescribable manner and what do you get? Something like a clock going SPRONG!! What does that mean exactly? Well, in this case it means that what had been happening before in prior 'repeats' (the Prophecy was meant to repeat again and again in universe after universe until the PRESCRIBED remedy was to have been met). Doing it the way that Setsuna had done it in her madness? Well, it kind of meant that for the moment as far as the poor long haired computer technician was concerned that at least HE (as well as the various members of NERV who had survived Setsuna's mad rampage) was going to keep finding himself in areas and situations outsiders would recognized as belonging to what would/should have happened LATER in the movie series and such. Setsuna had glimpsed the past indignations and crimes done to Yukiko somehow in the process of rescuing her from her rampaging Eva, but had also caught glimpses of the future that would have been as well. This had the side effect of--what with Setsuna having somewhat transcended time and all that which had come with her becoming a 'goddess'--planting the seeds of her becoming a BIG fan of the Neon Genesis franchise whenever her various other Sailor Senshi incarnations stumbled across it (especially becoming a fan of the Eva Pilot of Unit 00), despite it not seeming to be something those particular incarnations should be interested in really. It also means a lot more things than just that that. Some of it meant that as part of 'damage control' that Walker did to stabilize the mess that Setsuna inflicted on Yukiko's world which could have resulted in a solar system shattering explosion--bio-mechanical terraformer 'Angels' like Lilith and Adam can create some hellacious temporal recursive temporal loops--was throwing the dangerous elements of the 'Dead Sea Scroll' prophecy to places already in danger of destruction (i.e. Betty Ragan's Earth). It would be killing two birds with one stone one way or another, being that it was up to 'mortals' to fix their own problems (too much 'divine intervention' was bad for people) here. Either the Champions fixed the problem the Master caused with the VLA (which their 'working solution' Rei had cooked up would safely absorb the potential explosive energy a haywire Dead Sea Scroll Prophecy). Hey! Good things come to those who wait, right? Now we are finally getting around to just exactly what is going on here 'behind scenes'! And through THIS mess, the warzone as the Doctor called it (the Angel War from Yukiko's old homeworld) is what Rei's group is going to have to go through. This is what is definitely FREAKING OUT a LOT of people in a LOT of High Places in both State and Federal government places (as well a LOT of ordinary people of Betty Ragan's world) who are freaking out as well. It's not every day that an impenetrable dome suddenly surrounds Socororo, New Mexico (USA). Well, actually the VLA really but¡ Hmph. Not every day that figures from a rather popular (if controversial) Japanese anime suddenly showing up, fighting inside said impenetrable dome; showing no signs of answering frantic attempts to contact them or being even aware of something going on OUTSIDE of their battle environment. Hm, AT least until something like a wayward NERV computer technician knocks them out of the hypnotic stupor they'd been under, playing out a script to a prophecy gone quiet amuck. Let us just say that there are a LOT of unhappy people and nervous people out there right now! Especially when a wave of white light suddenly hits their base and the scene shifts again. And again. And AGAIN! But what probably is the most disconcerting thing of all to the wayward NERV computer technician/guitarist is there had been the sound of a young teenage girl who'd been screaming in the background that had transmuted into the cry of an infant.... Meanwhile, back at the Sunnyvale Highschool Library¡ But at least there is ONE happy person in this fracas, though. It finally all makes SENSE, the shadow dancing the girl . . . . No, the young woman (no way with a figure like that could one call Rei a 'girl') had done. It had not been to mock him somehow, but . . . Well folks, we've already heard about what Rei's plans had been: hire the Master to save the Earth that had been his original target.
