"This is a cave! An intricate labyrinth of underground passages linking three kingdoms together!"

Astra ignored him. "And we're talking about a powerful dragon mage that is capable of chaining warriors –without using his own paws– and turning people into dogs! No offense, Velus."

Velus really wasn't paying attention. His fleas seemed to have gone into a fit, and he was scratching himself furiously. "Wait a minute," thought Astra, "how long has Velus been a dog, then?"

1. "Uh, Velus?" said Astra. "Can I ask you a question?" "You know you're going to have to guess an answer for him to say 'yes' or 'no', right?" said Fred.
2. "Okay, Astra," said Fred. "If it'll make you feel better, I'll go back out to get some food."
3. "Okay, Astra," said Fred. "If it'll make you feel better, I'll see if there's food deeper in the cave."
