Desparate escape

Things looked hopeless. Kyllian and Andrea were being brought to the
Vampire throne room in the dungeon. Kyllian had to do something. He did
not want to spend the rest of his days as a blood-sucking vampire. On the
other hand, any fate in which Andrea was his bride couldn't be too bad...
He stopped thinking about Andrea, just in case any of the vampires were
telepaths. (Being an adolescent, Kyllian was more than a little self-
conscious.) "Got any ideas?" he whispered to Andrea. "No," she said. "I thought you were supposed to be the smart one." "I suppose so," said Kyllian. "We obviously can't stop all these vampires by force. But maybe..." His face lit up with inspiration. "Do you still have your bow and arrow?" "Yes," said Andrea. "Maybe you can shoot one of those water pipes. That should kill some of them, and should distract them long enough for me to..." "To what," asked Andrea. "Never mind," said Kyllian. "I have an idea, but it's risky. You have to do your part. Hit those pipes now!" "OK," said Andrea. "I hope this works. You'd better pray to that Author or whoever." Andrea surreptitiously removed her bow and arrow, and shot the pipes. They were knocked out of place. A torrent of water rushed down and hit many of the Vampires, killing them. The other Vampires rushed away. "Save yourself, Andrea! Get out of here and leave the vampire killing to me!" Kyllian said. Andrea ran. She sincerely hoped that the rest of Kyllian's idea was as good as the first part.
