Death is Not the End

"Sara, I think I just heard Josh!" Jasper whispers.
"How could you?" Sara asks. "We saw him die!"
"You know he's come back from that before! Now listen! Do you hear it?"

Sara listens, and her face slowly shows signs of fear as she hears what Jasper had identified as Josh's voice. "It is him, Jasper! But why does he sound so weird?"

As the sounds draw closer, Sara and Jasper can not only identify Josh's voice, as he seems to be babbling incoherently, but there's another disembodied voice coming from the wilderness, and whatever it is, the second, more sinister sounding voice seems to be hissing the word "flesh!" over and over again.

"Jasper, let's get out of here!" Sara says, tugging on the sleeve of his jacket.
"I think it may be too late, Sara!" Jasper cries, pointing to the south. "Look!"

"H-hey...guys," Josh says as he slowly makes his way towards the vegetable cabin. But, something is very wrong.

Not only does Josh look like death warmed over, having been brutally murdered just minutes ago, his outfit has been changed to one that is entirely black. Josh's T-shirt, which was formerly one depicting the logo for his favorite baseball team, now displays a triangle pointing downwards, with five lines radiating upward from its base. Not only that, but there's a black ring on Josh's right hand, and it appears to have the same logo from Josh's shirt on it.

Get ready, America. This is BLACK LANTERN JOSH BURBANK.

"Josh?!" Sara shrieks.
"Yeah...it's me," Josh says as he comes closer. "Now, if you don't mind, I need to do something...something that I've always wanted to do to both of you idiots!"

As the cries of "flesh!" continue, Josh lunges at Sara and Jasper. A similar sounding voice cries out "Fear!" as Josh's ring can scan Sara and Jasper, reading their emotions as they correlate to something known as the 'emotional spectrum'. Sara and Jasper are high-tailing it back the way they came, with Black Lantern Josh Burbank following close behind. How will they survive this one, folks?

1. They don't. Josh kills them both, then Sara and Jasper rise as the latest Black Lanterns.
2. Sara finds a green power ring (for willpower), and Jasper gets a blue one (for hope). They now can battle Josh.
3. Josh somehow manages to defeat himself.
4. Amazingly, an alternate Josh from a different timeline shows up. He battles his undead counterpart.
