Astra walked towards him. "I mean, it's like those old wives tales..." Astra was now standing where Fred was standing. She was stading in Fred. "Or those sayings; I mean, when is the grass actually greener..." Astra concentrated, and tried to lift Fred's arm.
Fred stopped talking; Astra had taken over. Then he felt how his arms went slightly limp, but grabbed the sword before it fell; he had regained control of himself. Fred looked around. Velus was rolling on the floor laughing; or at least he though it was laughter; it sounded more like he was panting. Behind him, collapsed in exaustion, was Astra. Fred dropped the sword and rushed to her side. "Astra, what...?" "There!" she seemed to be gasping for air. "Convinced?" "Yes, but..." "Oh, don't worry about me," she continued gasping. "I just didn't think... it would be... that tiresome... that's all!" "Well, if you say I shouldn't worry, then I won't worry." He left her side and went to put his sword away. "It's a figure of speech, you dipwad!" "So, you're not all right?" "I will be... in a minute or so... Of course... it'll be... as all right as I can be... being dead!" "So, that's all then? You're just dead?" "Yeah," she said normally. She seemed to have finally caught her breath. "But why though? Why would anyone want to kill you?" Astra didn't have a reason ready, but before she could even formulate a guess...
