The statement startled Uhura. There was a third ship involved? How were
they keeping this under wraps? A Klingon vessel and an unknown third
party ship together with Enterprise would draw a lot of attention, whether
they were in Federation or Klingon space. The thought occurred that maybe they were in neither. "Excellent, V'Dettin," Connor nodded, obviously satisfied. "There were no issues?" The Klingon woman made an unhappy face (even more unhappy than usual for a Klingon Uhura thought with grim amusement). "It seems the Klingon commanding officer has managed to evade our pursuit," she said sourly. "He is quite formidable." "As is the human captain," Connor said. "No matter - two mere men, even ones as experienced as Kirk and Koloth, will not upset our plans." Koloth! It was a name Uhura remembered well. He and Captain Kirk had faced off several times. Koloth was a canny and experienced warrior. He'd also been left extremely humiliated the last time he encountered Enterprise at Space Station K-7. if they could contact him, he might help. Or he might simply destroy them for the sheer pleasure of revenge. Or he might do both. "Come," Connor said, heading for a turbolift down the corridor. Rand, V'Dettin and the other Klingon woman walked with her. "We should go to the bridge and prepare for the next phase of the operation." Uhura waited until the door to the lift closed, then breathed out. Now what?
