The Plan, Step One

Julie grinned. "It's a nice car, too. He's always talking about it." They both chuckled, some of the tension easing out of them. "Right," said Julie. "You ready for this?"

"Ready as I'll ever be," replied Stacy. "Let's do it."

"OK. We've got a bit of a walk through the corridors ahead of us, but there shouldn't be too many people around. With luck, we won't meet anyone. And the areas we're going through will be places that I, at least, am legitimately allowed to be, so I don't think security will be too concerned, even if they notice." She took a deep breath. "All right. Here we go!"

They left the library together, trying to look casual and calm.

1. As expected, they saw no-one in the hallways.
2. Halfway there, they ran into someone.
