The Most Wonderful Girl

Seated in the living room of a new bungalow in a residental neighborhood on Stanley's east side, Sara Hewitt looks over the paperwork left for her by the I.G.O. "Great, the Falklands?" she asks out loud. "What, am I gonna be taken captive if Argentina decides to invade again?"

Sara vaguely remembered television news coverage from her childhood of the 1982 conflict between the United Kingdom and Argentina over this territory, which seemed to contain far more sheep than actual human beings living there. While growing up, on the rare occasion that the Falklands War was mentioned during a history lesson at school, Sara was always curious as to why two nations would battle over these islands. Never in her wildest dreams, however, did Sara ever expect to find herself here.

She also was a little uncomfortable with the serious looking document left by the I.G.O. in conjunction with the Royal Air Force and Royal Navy, which advised Sara not to stray too far out of the Stanley city limits, in hopes of keeping her from walking into an uncleared minefield. There were still over a hundred of these fields left over from the war, and if all parties involved could help it, they desperately wanted to avoid any bad press if Sara Hewitt was blown to smithereens while playing in the "game".

Finally, she stood up. It was time for some action. If she only had six months to beat the deadline, Sara had better start working as quickly as she could. Maybe she could get off these rocks, and up to Joplin in three months. Besides, she didn't want her cousin Jasper beating her to the final destination if she could help it. Sara started thinking about her cousin, who wasn't especially intelligent, but he could still find his way out of a jam.
