Location: McMurdo Station, Ross Island, Antartica: Mr. Childers stared out the window of his specially equipped trailer, provided and furnished by the I.G.O. with the cooperation of the scientists and U.S. military who oversaw the day to day operations of McMurdo Station, an American research base that serves as Antartica's largest community. As far as Scott could ascertain, he was the only person in the base that had absolutely no scientific or professional reason to be there. McMurdo wasn't exactly a great tourist trap. Scott looked out the window towards the direction of Mount Erebus. A helpful gentleman identifying himself as Dr. Driftwood who was waiting in the trailer when Scott finally woke up a while ago, informed Scott that on warmer days such as this one, you could still see wreckage from 1979's Air New Zealand Flight 901 disaster that killed 257 people. Great, figured Scott. I can't even remember how I got down here, and there's a constant reminder of an avoidable plane crash off in the distance to boot. He turned away from the window. Scott didn't want to look at the mountain anymore in fear that he would start to see pieces of a crashed aircraft resting on its slope. All he wanted to do was find out how Krissy was doing, and then, start thinking of a way to get out of this frozen wasteland. "Well, I guess I could always ask that Dr. Driftwood fella if there's a fast way to get me to Missouri, right?" Scott asked out loud. Sighing, he sat down on the red couch, and picked up the folder with the paperwork left behind. He couldn't believe that the rules of the game wouldn't permit him to call or contact Krissy or anyone else involved. Scott missed his girl terribly. He had never felt like this about anyone else before, and here they both were, voluntarily placed in distant and remote parts of the globe. He knew that if anything, wanting to be reunited with Krissy was going to motivate him right out of Antartica, and into Joplin, Missouri. In the meantime, there was little else that could have been done today, so Scott resigned himself to going for a walk. Surely there was something to do here, right?
