The caring Alfred

A concerned and very confused Alfred rushed to Susan's side as she wept on her bed and asked her "What is wrong darling?"

Although she wanted to explain to him right now all Susan was capable of doing was wailing as the tears rolled down her cheeks. She was angered that the dregs of Fred still within her seemed determined to steal the chance of happiness from her. Yet if she were to tell Alfred the real cause of her anguish it would assuredly mean he would leave and abandon such a freak as she was.

Alfred wasn't easily put off, and sitting beside Susan, he put a strong arm around her and pulled her tenderly against his chest. Fred was horrified, as Susan's body reacted by nestling against the muscular man as he comforted her, but he knew that the time when he had any real control was fast slipping away.
