This is not right

As Susan began cutting and scraping at the vegetables for them to eat the Fred inside her screamed out. This just wasn't right! He had been a nobleman and now, in this female shell found it so natural to be looking after Charlie as if he was her son.

That thought did also bring a rare pang of regret as Fred thought about how his chosen life had meant that he had never had time to settle down and start a family. In some ways this enforced change of situation was at least allowing him to fill a void in Fred's life.

This was extremely confusing for Susan/Fred or whoever they currently were. Fred had no wish to be a woman and yet was able to see something in this life that was better than before.
