Betty Regrets Not Working Harder in Electronics Lab

"Right," said Melissa, slapping the wire cutters into Betty's hand. "So, Ms. Scientific Expert, cut the damn wire!"

Betty merely stood there, looking uncomfortable. "Umm," she said. The other two stared at her. "Umm," she continued, "the thing is, electronics was never my best subject. I was more interested in the theoretical stuff, really. I barely scraped by in the lab..." She trailed off, then finished, lamely, "See, I have no idea what wire to cut, or how to do it without getting myself fried in the process."

1. "Let's just wait for the Doctor," she went on. "He always saves the day at the last minute. Trust me."
2. Melissa snatched the cutters back out of her hand. "Oh, for crying out loud. I'll do it!"
3. Under the stress of the situation, Stacy suddenly found herself remembering her training as an expert on electic power systems!
4. But just then the power went out again, rendering the whole conversation moot.
