Wu held up another electronic device. It looked like a very crude
miniature radio, with a tiny tape recorder attatched to it. "I've managed
to find out what frequency security uses," she explained. "When we're in
position, the guard will be getting a call on his radio asking him to make
a check on the supplies at his security post. As far as I can tell, such
requests are fairly routine, so he probably won't be suspicious. And he'll
have to turn his back to do that. It won't give us more than a minute or
two, tops, but that should be enough to get past him and out the door."
She smiled. "We've got one advantage. They expect their implants to do
most of the security work for them. They won't be expecting an escape
attempt." Stacy looked at Wu's home-made radio transmitter dubiously. "Are you sure that will work?" she asked. "Well, I haven't had the chance to test it," admitted Wu, "but trust me, I know what I'm doing." Stacy only hoped she was right. The whole thing sounded terribly risky, but what other choice did she have? "All right," she said. "I'm with you." Wu smiled.
