The water had stabilized at their waists. "What a mess." said Ardua. "At least we are warm clean." replied her red-haired companion. Suddenly something brightened. Astra's eyes went blurry as the light source was glowing too much too fast. Then it settled. She saw Ardua three feet away and looking down. The water itself was glowing! "Curiouser and curiouser." Astra muttered. The cell was as they figured, twenty feet wide and damp. One end held a steep door with a retractable platform at eye level. "Hello!" said a voice. It had a jingle as if someone was talking through a mouthful of bells. Ardua jumped. "Where are you? Show yourself!" "I mean you no harm. I am here to help." "Fine. Then make yourself known." "If I do I might anger you." "You already are angering us!" said Ardua. "Fine." said the voice. "Don't say I didn't warn you. I am the water around you." "Fascinating." said Ardua. "....Okay then.
