The Never Ending Quest - Episode 83230

And we return to see something of a scene going on here. The others of Moya are silent for the moment, watching this event as it unfolds. Frankly, they’re kind of curious themselves.

Scorpius is nowhere to be seen right now. Either he’s sulking, his dreams of vengeance against the Skaraans postpones for the moment or is hatching some kind of scheme to still bring it about.

Frankly Rei and the others of Terra Prime would rather keep their distance from the cadaverous freak as much as possible. He’d been most interesting to see on the TV screen but wasn’t someone they’d feel comfortable trying to match wits with, thanks!

Oh, they could do it (maybe), but rather wouldn’t want to do it.

“So let me get this right,” a pleasant sounding female (oddly British sounding) voice begins. “You just brought them along after hiring them out of the blue? And you want now to add them to the berthing on my ship, is it?”

The voice belonged to the redheaded Kalish woman nicknamed as “Pscyo- zoo” by some of the Moyan crew and happened to be the captain of the vessel that Rei and her friends hoped to catch a ride with to soon be reunited with their family and loved ones.

The people in question that the Kalish woman is talking about are the elves and gryphons that had come in tow up to Moya. They are more than still somewhat awed at all that had befallen them. To think that their savior not only freed them from their chains. To think that they were mighty magic users, powerful enough to be able to have large metallic chariots that fly through the air with grace and speed! Not only that but to be able to actually sail AMONGST THE STARS themselves?!

Granted, at times these women were a bit . . .eccentric (or SEEMED it), but that was the way of wizards and magic users, right? In the end they figured that they would have to be completely and utterly insane NOT to keep to their patrons’ side for it lead to the stars.

They’d been given their freedom by these women. The adult elves at least figured they owed Rei and her sisters for THAT.

And thus they swore their hand to the winged women, just moments ago in the very cargo hold of Moya.

With her having paced up and down (literally!) the walls right before asking this was a nice effect to add to the situation the question was asked under, let me tell you.

Yeah, the elves in question had been impressed. Impressed but not intimidated. If anything, it only added to their resolve to stay by their "saviors" side. It's kind of creepy in a way, the adoration the elves now have in their eyes for the winged women....

Cutting to the chase and getting to the bottom of this, the elves are now VERY amped about their situation and the young women who’ve made this possible. Elves like they always did have a tendency to revere the stars and sky. Revere nature in general, even the most secular ones of the species.

Having grown up around elves, Rei and her sisters VERY well where all this was going and what it meant for them.

“Now we know exactly how the Doctor felt at times . . .picking up Companions and all,” Lilith muttered softly as Rei (the leader of their little troupe) explains all that to the increasingly annoyed looking Kalish woman. “He did sometimes mutter something about a tendency to pick up strays.”

It had been all in fun, though. After all, one of those set of “strays” had been her and her sisters! But still, even though there wasn’t anything for it here she could understand the underlying befuddlement the Time Lord must have had when he’d made that jest about his blessing/curse of picking up Companions seemed to have spread amongst the rest of the Clan of Champions of Terra Prime.

Other visiting Champions (like say Morganna that High Elf from Rift Earth) had commented about the way those of Terra Prime seemed to pick up Companions. Who . . .had a tendency to become Champions, eventually through marriage/love of a native Champion.

. . .

Rei and her sisters weren’t going to lay odds at THAT happening to Hilda and her friends but then again . . .elfin hearts had the oddest tendency at deciding who their owner’s shall love without ANY input from said owner...

“But that aside IF we could get them back down dirtside without a lot of kicking and screaming do you really think that a Clanless set of elves will be able to live long without getting thrown back into slavery on that cesspool of a planet you directed us to here?!” Rei asked in exasperation, shaking her ehterial head slightly.

D*amn, why couldh't she have avoided this arguement by simply sleeping and merely dream after that draining ordeal at making that potion (and casting that magic) to help save Zhaan? No, she had to have the bad luck and accidentally go astral as she and her sisters sometimes were in the wont when stressed after a tiring ordeal and try to rest...
