The Never Ending Quest - Episode 83193

"Oh boy," said TW. "Not this again." The alarm was screaming like the female lead of a bad horror movie, or a companion in an old series Doctor Who story. TW blinked. Why had he thought that? There was no new series of Doctor Who! He began to wonder why he had been briefly so convinced there was one and then turned to the more pressing problem of why he suddenly had two heads.

The two Doctors, on the other hand, were more concerned with the bizarre vortex of swirling, multicolored light in the center of the room. The whole thing made a weird wheezing and groaning noise that sounded all too familiar. "That sounds like a TARDIS," said the human-like Doctor.

"I rather noticed," said the arachno-centaur Doctor rather snippily.

"Are you all right? You seem rather out of sorts."

"Being some sort of half-spider freak will do that to you, I suppose." The noise grew louder and louder and the light began to swirl faster and faster. "Look!" said the spider-Doctor. "Forming in the center of the vortex! It's..."

"A donut," said the other Doctor. And as the light died down, it was clear that the object was exactly that. "How wonderful. I am feeling a little peckish right about now..."

That was then the donut began to get larger and larger and then exploded, splattering jelly over everyone. Lockheed waddled into the center of the jelly and started licking it.

"Well, that could have been worse," said TW. "I mean, at least we're all still the same people, and it's not going to get any more confusing than it already is..." That was when he saw that several new people had appeared in the jelly. He was pretty sure he recognized one of them. It was a woman who looked a little like Sigourney Weaver and had some sort of jewel in her forehead.

He slapped his forehead. "Oh no," he said. "Oh no"

On the other side of the lunchroom, unnoticed by all, a short bald man with a giant bulbous head paces around the room. "Perhaps you are confused by this turn of events," he said. "Perhaps you are confused by this whole story, in which case, I cannot help you. I am the Watcher. I observe all things that happen in all corners of the multiverse, but am forbidden to act. This world is the world of Game 3, a chaotic zone of unreality within an interactive story that existed long before this one. It was a place of chaos and madness. Game 3 has slumbered for years now, but the universe trembles at the thought that it one day when the stars are right it might rise again. And even now it lives on in the hearts and minds of those who write for this story.

"The hero, if you could call him, that, was a man called Scott Chen. A plaything of the fates, or rather the Authors, who suffered from constant tortures and incoherent plots. But one day the fates were reversed and the power of the Authors fell into his hands. Scott Chen was determined to have his revenge by imprisoning them in the Game and forcing them to be characters in his own story. He also captured heroes from other worlds to serve as his playthings. This part of Game 3 is a high school, twisted and tyrannical, in other words not very different from your usual high school except that certain of the faculty are Daleks. The prisoners on this world are:

"The Doctor, an alternate universe counterpart of the rogue Time Lord who leads this squadron of Champions, this one in his eighth incarnation. He is bold, brilliant, compassionate, and a little flighty. When imprisoned in the school his timestream was split apart by a chaos event, and his other self developed the thorax of a spider.

"The Master, his fellow rogue Time Lord and eternal nemesis, currently in the form of a snake that possesses human bodies. He is every bit as brilliant as the Doctor is and as dedicated to evil as the Doctor is to good.

"Betty, a Game 3 author and Doctor Who fan. Nerdy and enthusiastic yet grounded, she is easily the most sensible person in the entire high school.

"Time Warrior, a Never-Ending Quest author who would go on to write a thread involving Scott that was even more ridiculously convoluted than this one. He is 15 years old and has many of the issues you would expect a nerdy adolescent to have. He is not known for his self-awareness.

"Knight Random, his older self, who is more mature but not as much as he likes to think. At this point in his life he is 18 years old.

"Dayanara, a mysterious and stunningly beautiful woman, though she admits this is not her true body, who claims to be a member of an organization called the Multiverse Patrol.

"And Lockheed, a small, annoying little dragon who hatched from a transformed bomb.

"A recent chaos event deposited three Eternal Champions whom Scott also captured in the school. They are:

Inquirer: Once an AI created as a soldier in a genocidal multiversal war, she was transformed into a Golem on the alternate world of Terra Prime, where she gained new friends and family. Now she battles the forces of evil as an Eternal Champion and is married to the Eternal Champion Doctor. Though she and the Doctor seem to have little in common, their respect and love for each other runs deep.

Sigin: The dragon called Sigin has been many things: playwright, ship captain, spy, Catholic, lover and mage. Much like the Doctor he preferred life among the short-lived but vibrant humans to life among his own ancient and inflexible people, and he aided Lord Frederigo D'Honaire in a quest that eventually bought him to Terra Prime, where he became a Champion. He later Recognized Chiana and became her husband.

Chiana: In the universe mirrored in our world on the TV show Farscape, Chiana grew up under a dictatorial world and eventually escaped, becoming a cunning and shrewd thief who could "kick, kiss or cry" her way out of any situation. Eventually she became a part of the living ship Moya. When Scorpius's experimentations with wormholes created a breach between universes that led the Doctor to her world, a bizarre sequence of events transformed her into a dragon. Eventually she Recognized Sigin and, improbably, became his wife. Whether she can fully open up to him remains to be seen.

"Now they must--"

"HALT. DO NOT MOVE!" shouted a large pepperpot-like thing. "WHO ARE YOU TALKING TO?."

"The rea--um, no one in particular."

"TALKING TO YOURSELF IS NOT ALLOWED. YOU WILL GO TO DETENTION. DETENTION! DETENTION!" The Watcher dejectedly left the room.

  1. Meanwhile, the prisoners...
