The Never Ending Quest - Episode 82885

The National Guard's aircraft, which contained Josh and nineteen more Guardsmen, had been scheduled to land at Chacalluta International Airport, eleven and a half miles north of Arica, epicenter of the famine engulfing the region.

Somehow, the plane went way off course. Hours had passed, and most of the passengers had gone to sleep, having been bored into unconsciousness by the length of the flight, and seeing almost nothing but blue sky, clouds, and the ocean eight miles beneath them for what had seemed like an eternity.

Most of the crew, Josh Burbank included, had slept through the barrage of messages emitting from the intercom, once the flight crew had discovered that they were now entering Australian airspace. After relaying urgent messages with ground crews, the National Guard was cleared to land their plane at Adelaide Airport. Sydney or Melbourne would have been preferred, but they had to take what they could get at this point. And the plane was dangerously low on fuel by now.

An hour later, the aircraft has taxied to a stop. The Guardsmen all huddle, hastily making plans on where to stash their belongings and discussing how exactly they are going to get out of this mess.

  1. Everyone proceeds to the nearest terminal.
  2. Josh has fallen into a very deep sleep and cannot be awoken.
  3. The mission captain and the flight crew all are very nervous. Somebody is going to be severely punished for this snafu.
