The four of them don't have any idea where they're going as they charge hither and yon, brandishing their tranquilizer guns. So they charge randomly in four different directions, aimlessly roaming the landscape in search of Doctor Phil, the Bounty Hunter. Actually, that statement implies some sort of plan on their parts, some hint of an idea that they might cover more ground by splitting up. While that would be a good assumption to make if dealing with normal people...we have to force ourselves to stop and consider that **these people AREN'T fucking normal.** They have no plan, no goals, and no aims in life at all, beyond lurching randomly from moment to moment. The TRUTH is...they don't work well with each other, don't communicate well, and can't work with other people at all. And while Sara and Jasper have at least some rudimentary aptitude for forward thinking, Josh and Scott are utterly lacking in that quality, as well as even the most basic common sense. There was no discussion, no shared thoughts, nothing save complete self-absorption and the drive to find and stop Phil McGraw from doing any more damage--as basic an instinct as the urge of salmon to swim upstream from time to time. And so, they each found themselves running in a wholly different direction, with no idea where the others were and no desire to stop.
