Running from the crazed arm of the law on an empty stomach wouldn't do either of them any good. Sara and Jasper ate chicken fried steak in the back booth of the movie-theatre themed all night diner. Above them, to Jasper's left, was a framed poster for 'Hurry Sundown', with the cast names on tree silhouettes.
The music pleased Jasper as he ate, Sarah distracted by a New York Times someone had left behind. Waves of nostalgia washed over him. But then Jasper realized something odd. He didn't quite recognize the music...

  1. Despite pondering, it did not register.
  2. It was the improv music his ska band did in high school for that one birthday party.
  3. It was the music he heard in the acid trip when Josh Burbank spiked his Diet Coke last winter.
  4. Knock-off Elvis music he listened to on Youtube last month.
  5. Whatever was going on, it seemed to be bad voodoo. The poster now had sketched eyeballs where it did not before.
  6. It was Sara's guitar thing as part of her college band that fell apart after all the murders.
