They all stared bleakly at the landscape for a moment. Then the
brown-haird Betty -- Stacy had decided to think of her as Betty-1 -- said,
in a small, hopeful voice, "Wait. This is something I was never completely
clear about with the TV show... Is this one of those futures that can be
altered?" Read-haired Betty -- Betty-2 -- chimed in eagerly. "You mean like in 'The Pyramids of Mars'?" "Exactly!" exclaimed Betty-1. "You, know when he takes Sarah Jane to 1980 and shows her how the Earth will be destroyed by Sutekh if they don't stop him..." "Yeah! Yeah!" cried Betty-2. Both Bettys looked at the Doctor. "Well?" they said in unison. The Doctor, who was looking rather annoyed (possibly because they were discussing things that hadn't yet happened to him again), said:
